'Nowhere Else But Here' is a fantastic read; I really enjoyed it and flew through it in a matter of a few days. Firstly, I think that it is excellent that Rachel Cotton is 17 and a published author - she is an inspiration to me!

The book centres around Rose Valentine, who plays by the rules. But when Theo Lockhart, a fellow classmate of Rose's who has been missing, lands on her doorstep asking to hide at her house, she knows it is a risky situation. Rose has hundreds of questions to ask, but after a few days of movie marathons and chats, where do they go from here?

The beginning of this novel was absolutely excellent - it definitely had me hooked in from the first word, which is a skill that many writers lack. I loved how I didn't have to get 50 pages in to start really enjoying it. The characters development is excellent as they ended up on growing on me; I started to like Rose at around halfway through the book. However, I really liked the dynamics of the relationship between Rose and Theo: She had to let go of some of her boundaries and he had to let someone get close to him. The plot progressed relatively well and although it was stereotypical in some places, it still kept me engaged. Another element that I liked is although the novel is quite a cute read, it still covers sensitive and deeper issues such as domestic abuse and relationships between parents and their children. Overall, it is a brilliant read that should be on your summer TBR's! I am looking forward to seeing what the talented Rachel Cotton writes next.
