LET'S DISCUSS: WRITING BOOKS

Have you ever considered writing a book? If you have, what is stopping you?

I have always wanted to write since I was very small: and I have had an idea for a plot brewing in my head for a while, and it is always expanding continuously. It is slowly but surely forming, so I know I will be ready to start writing it soon; and finally follow my dream.

But, my mind is always full of doubts; telling my heart that I am too young, and I don't have enough experience. I used to tell myself that I should wait, my writing isn't good enough, as I am just an adolescent- I thought I should start writing a book once I have got a degree, and gained some more experience

A few days ago, I came across a quote that inspired me to start writing. There is never a time like the present to start working on your dreams: I know that writing is something I really have a fiery passion for, and I can't let that passion reside.

'Stop Wishing, Start Doing'

This is one of many quotes and attitudes that I want to adopt myself. For anyone who is in the same position as me, I hope they feel like they could start to do this to. It is very difficult to change into a different mindset; it you are so used to thinking in a certain way.

But I have decided that I want to change my way of thinking, and start writing.

Have you stopped pursuing your dream? Are you now going to try and 'Stop Wishing, Start Doing?'

  1. I have always started stories, but I had an amazing idea for a story not long ago. I want to see if I can make it into at least a short story; I've always wanted to become an author, even if not a well known one.

  2. I started writing a book for NaNoWriMo last November - I finished my 50,000 words, but then stopped writing. I definitely need to pick it up again!

If you want to write, you should just go for it and try not to judge the book much as you go along. Even if it's something that only you are ever going to read, it's worth it to get the experience!
